From Varanasi to nearby Towns:
You can book or rent a car from any location in Varanasi be it a hotel or a house to any nearby town like Jaunpur, Ballia, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mughal Sarai, Mirzapur, Bodh Gaya, Robertsganj,Anpara,Allahabad or Lucknow or any other. It could be just a drop to your destination or a short visit and back to Varanasi. In both cases, the two way fare applies.
The Pilgrims Tour:
This is a full day excursion that takes you to the most famous shrines and temples of Varanasi and to the ghats on the banks of the Ganga river. You will be visiting the Kashi Vishwanath temple, the Sankat Mochan(oldest temple of Lord Hanuman), the famous Shakti temple of Durgakund, the Manas mandir, The Tridev temple, the new Kashi Vishwanath temple in BHU and finally to the ghats where you can stroll on the banks and take a boat ride across the Ganga. Please note that for any tour, the car would start its return journey back to your hotel after 5 PM. If you wish to extend the tour after 5 PM, you will be billed extra at the per hour rate applicable. The Buddhist Circle Tour:
This one is a full day excursion that takes you to Sarnath about 12 kms from the city center. Sarnath is the place where the Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon and teachings. My personal favorite, Sarnath is the site of ancient Buddhist Stupas, excavated monasteries,magnificent artifacts at the archaeological museum including the Ashokan Pillar dating back from the 3rd century BC to the 12th century AD. Sarnath itself is an extremely beautiful place with lots of greenery, a peaceful ambience and tree lined avenues. Sarnath is home to the world famous Chaukhandi Stupa, Dhamek Stupa, the Ashokan Pillar and to more than 20 Buddhist temples that trace their origin to various schools of China, Thailand, Srilanka, Cambodia,Japan,Indonesia and other countries. Your kids will simply fall in love with the place as the characters from their history books come alive in Sarnath. The place is soaked in history. There is so much to see at Sarnath that a day is almost never enough. An informed guide can be arranged if you inform us at the time of booking. You will be picked up from your hotel at 10 am, taken to Sarnath and then dropped off at your hotel in the evening at 5 PM. The Ram Nagar Fort, Chunar Fort and Lakhania Dari Tour:
This is a full day tour that takes you through the historic Ram Nagar fort and Palace, the abode of the former King of Kashi where you witness the royal glory of a bygone era. The King still stays at the palace. Then you would be taken through to the Lakhania Dari in the Vindhyachal ranges of Mirzapur district. The place is dotted with beautiful waterfalls and rock paintings of ancient times and is about 55 kms from Varanasi. From here, you will head to the Chunar Fort built from the Chunar stone found exclusively in this region. The Chunar fort became important for its association with the Mughal king, Babar and later Shershah Suri, who got the possession of the fort by marrying the wife of Taj Khan Sarang-Khani, the Governer of Ibrahim Lodi. In 1531 AD Humayun made an unsuccessful effort to capture this fort but later in 1574AD, Akbar the great captured this fort and since that very time it remained under the Mughals up to 1772AD. In the year 1772AD the East India Company captured the Chunar fort. Please note that for any tour, the car would start its return journey back to your hotel after 5 PM. Tour of the Chandraprabha Wildlife Sanctuary:
This too is a one day tour unless you plan to stay overnight here. However, you need to inform us in advance so that booking arrangements can be made for a visit to the wildlife sanctuary. Chandra Prabha Wildlife Sanctuary is situated about 70 kilometers from the historic city of Varanasi. Chandra Prabha sanctuary is spread over an area of 78 sq km and lies on Naugarh and Vijaigarh hillocks in the Vindhya forest range in Chandauli. Some of the animals that you come across in Chandra Prabha Sanctuary include sambhar, nilgai, blackbucks, porcupine and wild boar. You can also see python and gharial in the sanctuary. The sanctuary is also home to a number of birds and you can see at least 150 species of birds. Please note that for any tour, the car would start its return journey back to your hotel after 5 PM. This will be kind of touch-and-go tour where the focus is on enabling you to visit the maximum number of prime spots in a single day tour. So this will take you through the famous ghats of Varanasi, the new Kashi Vishwanath temple in BHU, Sarnath and the Ram Nagar Fort Palace. However, we are open to your suggestions to swap any of the places with some other spot you may have in mind, if we feel that we may be able to cover it in the single day tour.
